The person who Angel's trying to protect gets murdered by Russell, a vampire. Russell then proceeds to go after Cordelia. Angel manages to save Cordelia, with Doyle's help, and Russell learns to fly.
Lonely Hearts / season 1 - episode 2 Written by: David Fury Directed by: James A. Contner Doyle (Glenn Quinn) gets a vision of a cheesy night club, but no names or details. Angel (David Boreanaz) uncovers a parasitic demon that seductively preys on the lonely, burrowing into their bodies in search of the perfect host. In the process, the hosts are killed. So, as the body count rises, Angel must find a way to stop the creature. Doyle and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) bond asthey learn more about the identity and behaviors of the demon andKate (Elisabeth Rohm) and Angel soon work together to catch the killer.
In the Dark / season 1 - episode 3 Written by: Doug Petrie Directed by: Bruce Seth Green Spike (James Marsters) follows Oz's lead and heads to LA looking for Angel (David Boreanaz) and the ring. Spike gets Angel but the ring is yet to be found, Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and Doyle (Glenn Quinn) find it. They got to find Spike and attempt to give him the ring in exchange for Angel. Things go wrong for Spike, the ring is missing, so is Marcus and Angel's in bad shape. Angel and the gang, along with Oz's van find Marcus on the beach, after a fight Marcus is stripped of the ring, and life. Angel sees life beyond night and his first sunset in 200 years. Angel decides not to keep the ring, and he destroys it.
I Fall to Pieces / season 1 - episode 4 Written by: Joss Whedon & David Greenwalt Directed by: Vern Gilum As Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and Angel (David Boreanaz) continue the debate of whether or not to charge for their services, Doyle (Glenn Quinn) receives a vision of yet another woman in distress. Angel pays a visit to her workplace and learns that the woman is being terrorized by her neurosurgeon who is somehow mysteriously able to watch her every move. After some detective work, Angel and Cordelia discover that the doctor is able to disconnect appendages from his body and prey on his victims. But when the doctor pays a visit to Angel's apartment, Angel separates him - permanently.
Room With a View / season 1 - episode 5 Written by: David Greenwalt and Jane Espenson Directed by: Scott McGinnis Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) is in desperate need of a new place to live, and Doyle (Glenn Quinn) obliges by helping her find a great apartment. But unbeknownst to Cordy, it already has a tenant: a powerful ghost who is none too pleased to have a new roommate. After some research, Angel (David Boreanaz) learns that the apartment was owned by a woman who mysteriously died in the 1950s. Even more compelling is the number of single-woman suicides that have occurred in the apartment since her occupation. He and Doyle figure out thatthere is a ghost that is somehow murdering the women. While Angelis away doing research, Cordelia is lured back to the apartmentand is confronted by the apparition.
Sense & Sensitivity / season 1 - episode 6 Written by: Tim Minear Directed by: James A.Contner Detective Lockley is looking for a killer, she finds him, but the killer (Little Tony) has Wolfram & Hart on his side. After reportedly using excessive force to bust a crime lord with Angel's (David Boreanaz) help, Kate (Elisabeth Rohm) and the rest of the precinct are required to take sensitivity classes. Instead of helping them, the classes render them helpless, as their emotions strangely gush out of control, leaving the precinct without a police force and Angel as the lone defender.
Bachelor Party / season 1 - episode 7 Written by: Tracey Stern Directed by: David Straiton Just as Doyle (Glenn Quinn) is inches away from finally making a connection with Cordy, his estranged wife shows up at Angel (David Boreanaz) Investigations begging for a divorce so she can marry the new love of her life. After the initial shock of it all, Doyle agrees to consent tothe divorce. Meanwhile, Angel discovers that the fiance comes froma long line of pacifist demons, but this doesn't seem to rock anyone's boat. After Doyle consents to the divorce, the fiance invites Doyle to join his bachelor party. Unbeknownst to Doyle, the fiance's family has a ritual to fulfill: the fiance needs toeat Doyle's brain in order to have a successful marriage. As the party proceedings begin, Angel gets suspicious and wanders upstairs.
I Will Remember You / season 1 - episode 8 Written by: David Greenwalt and Jeannie Renshaw Directed by: David Grossman Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) comes to L.A. and confronts Angel (David Boreanaz) about his unannounced stalking, but a bloody battle with a medieval demon leaves Angel with awesome new powers and Buffy with a chance for true happiness with her beloved Cordelia's (Charisma Carpenter) slips to Buffy where Angel was and goes to kill the demon. She does so, but Angel finds out that there are more coming and the Slayer's life hangs in the balance. He decides to turn back time with the Oracles help and Angel kills the demon before any blood mixed, and only he has the memory of that day.
Hero / season 1 - episode 9 Written by: Howard Gordon and Tim Minear Directed by: Tucker Gates Angel (David Boreanaz) tells Doyle (Glenn Quinn) of his human experience, and meeting the Powers that Be, but Doyle doesn't have much time to react because work beckons. They soon finda group of half-breed demons and learn the demon racist group,The Scourge, are in town and out for blood. They conspire to rescue the half-demons: Angel goes undercover for the Scourge, and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and Doyle arrange the half-demons' safe passage toan island. When one of the half demons runs away, Doyle followshim and this delays the departure. While Doyle is away, Cordelia learns of his true identity. Meanwhile, on the inside, Angel learns the strategy to eliminate the half-demon breed population: The Scourge have built a machine whose rays can wipe out any human within a 1/4 mile radius.
Parting Gifts / season 1 - episode 10 Written by: David Fury and Jeannine Renshaw Directed by: James A. Contner Angel (David Boreanaz), still reeling from Doyle's (Glenn Quinn) death, must help an empathy demon who claims to be stalked by an evil force. After speaking to the dying demon, Angel and Wesley (Alexis Denisof) deduce that Barney is involved, and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) is in danger. Meanwhile, Barney kidnaps Cordelia and bids her visionary powers at an auction. When the deal goes to the highest bidder, Cordelia's fate is to have her eyes gouged out. Moments before the first incision, Angel and Wesley rush in and save the day. The next morning, Angel invites Wesley for breakfast.
Somnambulist / season 1 - episode 11 Written by: Tim Minear Directed by: Winrich Kolbe A girl is murdered by a vampire during the early morning hours. Later that day, Wesley (Alexis Denisof) notices an article about the murder in the newspaper and leaves immediately. Angel (David Boreanaz) pays a visit to Kate (Elisabeth Rohm) about some other business, but while he is there, he observes the crime scene photos on her desk. He recognizes the modus operandi, and immediately realizes that there is a connection between his recent nightmares and the murders. Meanwhile, Wesley returns to Angel Investigations and clues Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) in on the situation at hand. He tells her in the past, Angelus marked his victims' left cheek with a cross. That night, Angel has a dream. He realizes one of his sires named Ben is responsible for the current murders.
Expecting / season 1 - episode 12 Written by: Howard Gordon Directed by: David Semel Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) may have found something special in Wilson, an attractive wealthy man. But after spending one night with him, she wakes up eight months pregnant and soon discovers that she and others are carrying his demon spawn. When the doctor observes she is carrying 7 babies, the panic sets in. Meanwhile, Angel (David Boreanaz) meets with Serena and discovers she's pregnant as well. She clues him to Wilson and his cronies' hangout: a local gun club. Meanwhile, Cordelia and Wesley (Alexis Denisof) return to Angel's pad and Wesley observes her new attitude towards her spawn. She is suddenly very attached to them.
She / season 1 - episode 13 Written by: David Greenwalt & Marti Noxon Directed by: David Greenwalt Angel (David Boreanaz) encounters Jhiera, a woman who has come to Earth to escape persecution on her native planet. She plans to bring other women to Earth as well, but soldiers from her world have followed her to L.A. Meanwhile, Wesley (Alexis Denisof) becomes an official employee of Angel Investigations. Unfortunately some people get killed when they come to Earth in a blinding heat. Angel sets out to find this woman, Jhiera. Then finds out that the women escaping are trying to escape being used by the male of the species. Angel helps Jhiera to protect the women and they succeed.
I've Got You Under My Skin / season 1 - episode 14 Written by: David Greenwalt & Jeannine Renshaw Directed by: R.D. Price Angel (David Boreanaz) and Wesley (Alexis Denisof) find themselves acting as exorcists after Angel saves the boy, named Ryan, from an ongoing car. When Angel goes inside the house to get cleaned up, Wesley takes a look around and deduces one of the members of the family is possessed by a demon. Meanwhile, to show their undying gratitude for Angel's bravery, the family invites him over for dinner the following evening. Wesley informs Angel about the demon presence and the next day, they create a brownie recipe that will reveal the demon's presence.

Contner Angel's (David Boreanaz) life is on the line when the attorneys at Wolfram & Hart hire Los Angeles visitor Faith to put him out of business - permanently. In the meantime, Wesley (Alexis Denisof), who still feels responsibility to Faith from being her former Watcher, declares he will stop her from bringing harm until he, and Angel, determine she needs more than a just swift kick to snap out of her evil ways. Wesley who had broken free and obtained a knife, drops the knife upon seeing this, and Angel then holds on to Faith as she cries.
Sanctuary / season 1 - episode 19 Written by: Tim Minear and Joss Whedon Directed by: Michael Lange Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar)comes to Los Angeles seeking vengeance under the guise of protecting Angel from Faith's violent nature. Faith tries to apologize, but Buffy doesn't let her. Angel steps in, trying to get Buffy to understand that Faith doesn't need this now. Buffy hits Angel (David Boreanaz) , so Angel hits back. Meanwhile, Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) has taken a paid vacation & Wesley (Alexis Denisof) is out playing some darts as The Watcher's Council Special Operations Unit show & offer Wesley reinstatement into the Council in exchange for Faith.
War Zone / season 1 - episode 20 Written by: Garry Cambell Directed by: David Straiton Angel (David Boreanaz) encounters a group of street kids, led by a man named Gunn, who are waging a war against vampires in the abandoned sections of the city. This guy went to a demon whorehouse & he's now being blackmailed with some pictures of him & a demon-girl. Angel is hired to get the pictures back. While he's doing that he encounters this group of street-kids who have taken up a little demon-fighting. The leader, Gunn, has a little sister who he's very protective of. She's protective of him, too. She fears that he's too close to the edge- that he has a need for death & cares not about the human lives lost while taken down vamps, only that vamps are getting taken down.
Blind Date / season 1 - episode 21 Written by: Jeannine Renshaw Directed by: Thomas J. Wright Angel (David Boreanaz) encounters a woman who has just killed a guy. To Angel's shock, the woman is blind. Later, Angel discovers that the woman is currently on trial for murder. She's being represented by Wolfram & Hart- for free, which means she works for them- & naturally, they get her off. Lindsey McDonald, a lawyer whom Angel has encountered varies times, is beginning to feel uncontented. He can't believe how bad he let things get, how much evil things he has done. He's freaked, so he goes to Angel about a new job the blind woman has been given. She is supposed to kill three kids.
To Shanshu in L.A. / season 1 - episode 22 Written by: David Greenwalt Directed by: David Greenwalt Wesley (Alexis Denisof) is working hard on deciphering the scroll which Angel (David Boreanaz) picked up on his way out of Wolfram & Hart. Wesley finds out it is about Angel's death. Angel has no major reaction to this, and this worries Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and Wesley. While this is going on Wolfram & Hart are conjuring up Vocah, who is needed, to conjure something else up. While Cordelia is out trying to give Angel some more human attributes Vocah is there and gives her the ability to see everyone in danger, this gives her the feeling of a psychotic fit. Vocah is a very busy demon, he also goes to Angel Investigations steals the scroll, and plants something which explodes in Wesley's face, while Angel was outside. report error and omissions here
