Never Kill a Boy on the First Date / season 1 - episode 5 Written by Rob des Hotel and Dean Batali Directed by David Semal Songs:Rotten Apples, Strong, Treason,Junkie Girl,Let the Sun Fall Down Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) falls for Owen, a cute, poetry loving classmate. When her slayer duties interfere with her dating plans, she must choose. She chooses Owen and heads to the Bronze whilst Giles heads for the funeral home. Willow (Alyson Hannigan)and Xander, and even Angel (David Boreanaz), also arrive at the Bronze looking for Buffy. After some fighting at the funeral home, Buffy finds out that Owen wants to see her because he finds the danger exciting, so she breaks it off.
The Pack / season 1 - episode 6 Written by Matt Kiene and Joe Reinmeyer Directed by Charles Martin Smith Songs:Reluctant Man, All You Want, Job's Eye Xander and a bunch of Sunnydale roughnecks get possessed by hyenas and run amok at school. The now-beastly boy is cruel to Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and helps the hyena-possessed pack of kids eat the school's mascot, Herbert the pig. Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) locks Xander in the library, saving him from a trip to the principal's office. No such good fortune for Principal Flutie.
Angel / season 1 - episode 7 Written by David Greenwalt Directed by Michael Schultz Song: I'll Remember You Buffy's (Sarah Michelle Gellar) infatuation with Angel (David Boreanaz) grows stronger each day, but she doesn't understand why he is always disappearing. The Master summons warrior vampires to try to stop Buffy.
I Robot, You Jane / season 1 - episode 8 Written by Ashley Gable and Thomas A. Swyden Directed by Scott Brazil Ms. Calendar attempts to lure Giles into the 20th Century and Willow (Alyson Hannigan) accidentally frees a demon to roam the Internet. They begin an on-line romance. Giles asks Ms. Calendar for help and discovers that she is a techno-pagan. Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Xander attempt to comfort Willow by saying that non of them will ever have normal relationships so long as they live atop the Hellmouth.
The Puppet Show / season 1 - episode 9 Written by Dean Batali and Rod des Hotel Directed by Ellen Pressman Principal Flutie's menacing replacement, Principal Snyder , orders Giles, Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and friends to stage the high school's talent show. And at Sunnydale, a contestant's "loss of heart" isn't a figure of speech. An organ-stealing demon is responsible, so a ghostbuster trapped in a ventriloquist's dummy named Sid is recruited to make things right.
Nightmares / season 1 - episode 10 Written by Joss Whedon and teleplay by David Greenwalt Directed by Bruce Seth Green This episode shows everyone's worst nightmare: Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) is forced to join the socially maladroit chess team, Xander enters class clad only in his underpants, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) is forced to perform onstage, Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) gets flung into her grave, and Giles, visiting Buffy's grave, gets a grab like nothing since Carrie.
Out of Mind, Out of Sight / season 1 - episode 11 Written by Whedon, Gable and Swyden Directed by Reza Badiyi A student who literally became invisible when she was ignored, takes her revenge on those closest to Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter). Cordy, hoping that Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is in a gang, asks for her help. Angel (David Boreanaz) reappears and offers some books to Giles, while Giles finds it "poetic in a maudlin sort of way" that a Vampire loves a Slayer.
Prophecy Girl / season 1 - episode 12 Written by Joss Whedon Directed by Joss Whedon Songs: I Fall to Pieces, Inconsolable Angel (David Boreanaz) gives Giles and ancient book which foretells that the Slayer will face The Master and die. Xander, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) face an army of demons during the Masters ascension. report error and omissions here
