When Big Bird (Big Bird) and Maria go to the ABCD-Mart to buy some skates for Snuffy’s Birthday, Big Bird forgets all about sticking together and takes off after a runaway skate. Now that he’s lost, will he remember what to do, and where to go for help? WIll Maria find him in time for Snuffy’s party? Big Bird Gets Lost has great new music, including a sing-along song that helps kids learn their phone numbers. Look for a special message from Frances McDormand to parents at the end. Director: Jon Stone I credit this movie, along with Big Bird (Big Bird) in Japan, for my current love for oriental culture and lifestyle. The sheer beauty of these movies is a great way for kids to become aquainted to China. The footage of the mountains, temples, and other wildlife in this movie is breath-taking, plus cultural examples, such as the clip of the citizens doing Ta'i Chi. The music is also very good. I begged my parents to tape it when i was little, only a few years old. I am 14 now, and am not embarassed to say that I will still watch them occasionally when I am bored just to see the the beauty of the Orient. They are on an old tape with other movies, so I am happy to find that these are available for purchase, and will do so ASAP. To anyone who has an interest in foreign culture or wishes to immerse their child in a new culture- Big Bird in China and Japan is an excellent way to do it and instill lasting loves for culture and memories in your child.

I saw this when I was 9 yrs. old. Have seen it on PBS/Disney Channel several times since over the years and still enjoy it. Big Bird (Big Bird) and his canine pal Barkley travel to Japan and within less than one day of arriving in the country are lost with very little money, no plane tickets home and unable to communicate in the native language. Fortunately, a lovely but mysterious young Japanese woman befriends them and takes them acorss Japan learning the language, meeting interesting new people and seeing the amazing sights. All-around entertainment for kids 1-100!

This is a very smart video that is for kids and can be enjoyed by adults. I had it when I was younger and I still have memories of it and I wish it was still avlible. It is very smart because not only is it entertaing and not only can everyone in enjoy it but kids are able to interact with it through a activity booklet that it comes with. If only these videos were still being made.

This is a great video with many highlights from the series. A personal favorite is a song called "At Your Library", which features the ENTIRE '80s cast. You will also see some classic Kermit the Frog moments in which he interviews several fairy tale characters. Another top-notch effort from the Children's Television Workshop.
Big Bird: Follow that Bird

Follow That Bird is as much a journey through time as it is a romp past the Sesame Street stop sign. Curiously, the cast members, live ones like Gordon and Maria, not just the Muppets, have the timeless look to them. Only the cameos (by Sandra Bernhard, John Candy, and others) plus a few ill-conceived hairdos clue us in that this feature film was made in 1985. Otherwise, it's all sophisticated Sesame humor and bighearted fun here as Oscar, the Count, and crew set off to rescue Big Bird, who's on the lam from a family of adoptive dodos. Only one conceivable complaint: The latter crop of Street viewers may miss Elmo, who hadn't been created when Bird first flew into theaters. report error and omissions here
