After the party, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) shows up at Trey's apartment wanting to talk. When she includes "sex life" under their list of problems, Trey tries to convince her otherwise. But instead of being convinced by Trey's passionate advances, Charlotte ends up with an unpleasant surprise on her leg.
The real me / season 4 - episode 2 Directed by: Michael Patrick King Written by: Michael Patrick King Stanford and Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) go to a popular restaurant and run into Carrie's fasion director friend who convinces her to model for her. Sam decides to have nude photos done and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) refuses to believe someone would think she's sexy, while Charlotte (Kristin Davis) tries to hook up Stanford with Anthony her wedding co-ordinator, but is unsuccessful. Charlotte's vagina is depressed and Carrie falls on the catwalk, inspiring the ladies to face their gremlins.

While out with Big, Carrie meets a jazz musician, but feels uncomfortable talking to him infront of Big. Samantha (Kim Kattrall) meets an artist, Maria, and makes some art of her own. Maria makes a move on Sam, but she says that she doesn't 'do women'. Could Sam live without a penis? Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Trey experiment with sex, but Charlotte wonders if it's healthy and Sam opens her mind and her heart.
What's sex got to do with it? / season 4 - episode 4 Directed by: Allen Coulter Written by: Nicole Avril At drinks with the girls, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) announces that she has had a "mind-blowing" orgasm with Ray. She confides that she usually doesn't experience that kind of orgasm with someone she doesn't love. She wonders: "How much of sex is the connection?" Samantha (Kim Kattrall) has some news of her own: she is in a real "relationship" - with Maria. She tells the girls that Maria has opened her eyes to the joys of "making love" with an emotional connection.
Ghost town / season 4 - episode 5 Directed by: Michael Spiller Written by: Allan Heinberg When Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) bumps into Steve, he announces that he's opening up his own bar and invites her to the opening. Miranda feels conflicted as she was the one who had encouraged him to be so ambitious when they were in a relationship. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) also receives an invitation to the opening of "Scout" and is shocked to read that Aidan is Steve's "silent partner." That night, Miranda is awoken by strange sounds and thinks there's a ghost in her building.
Baby, talk is cheap / season 4 - episode 6 Directed by: Michael Spiller Written by: Cindy Chupack Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) realises that she still loves Aidan but doesn't know what to do, or if he could feel the same, while Sam picks up a guy while wearing fake nipples to find that he baby talks in bed. Carrie is upset when Aidan doesn't reply to her email, so she calls him and discovers that he didn't read it. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Trey decide to try for a baby and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is shocked when her Marathon Man licks her no man has licked before.
Time and punishment / season 4 - episode 7 Directed by: Michael Engler Written by: Jessica Bendinger Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan are interrupted in bed by the voice of Big on Carrie's answering machine. Though Aidan says nothing, Carrie fears that he'll never be able to forgive her for her affair with Big. She wonders if you can ever really forgive if you can't forget. Carrie works hard to show Aidan that she's a great girlfriend, but he seems distant and angry. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) stuns the girls by announcing that she's planning on quitting her gallery job and devoting herself to having a baby and redecorating.
My motherboard, my self / season 4 - episode 8 Directed by: Michael Engler Written by: Julie Rottenberg & Elisa Zuritsky Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan exchange keys and Samantha (Kim Kattrall) buys a sex manual. Carrie's laptop breaks down and Miranda's (Cynthia Nixon) mother has a heart attack, so she goes to see her in Phillidelphia. Samantha has a orgasm while wrestling, and Miranda's mom dies, so the ladies go to her funeral. Samantha loses her orgasm and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) arranges flowers for Miranda's mom's funeral. Aidan buys Carrie a new laptop but she doesn't want to start depending on Aidan, and Miranda's family are concerned that she has no date for her mom's funeral.
Sex and the country / season 4 - episode 9 Directed by: Michael Spiller Written by: Allan Heinberg Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) finds out from Aidan that Steve has testicular cancer. She has lunch with Steve and screams at him for being so nonchalant about his cancer, causing him to break down and cry. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) prepares for a trip to Aidan's country cabin in Suffern, NY with a true city girl's trepidation. She tells the girls she's going because Aidan loves the country. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) understands, adding that she's going to Bunny's Connecticut house to please Trey.
Belles of the balls / season 4 - episode 10 Directed by: Michael Spiller Written by: Michael Patrick King Are men just women with balls? Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) helps Aidan and Big learn to accept each other a bit more, while Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Steve get closer than they've been in a long time. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Trey keep up the hard work of making a baby, and Samantha (Kim Kattrall) wins a difficult account by demonstrating just how ballsy a woman can be.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda / season 4 - episode 11 Directed by: David Frankel Written by: Jenny Bicks Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) tells Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) she's pregnant to Steve's uniball and that she doesn't want to have it, and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) gets angry with Miranda because she can't have a baby of her own. Carrie tells Aidan about the baby and he thinks Steve has a right to know, and Carrie lies about having an abortion of her own many years ago. Samantha (Kim Kattrall) uses Lucy Lui to get a $4,000 bag without waiting but it backfires, Lucy gets the bag and sacks Sam. Carrie freaks and thinks Aidan's told Steve about the baby.
Just say yes / season 4 - episode 12 Directed by: David Frankel Written by: Cindy Chupack Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) building goes co-op and Aidan offers to buy her appartment for them. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) starts taking hormones to try and conceive, and Carrie sees an engagement ring in Aidan's bag... and throws up. Samantha (Kim Kattrall) meets up with Mr Right. Mr Richard Right that is, while Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) finally tells Steve that she's pregnant with his child. Carrie decides she's going to say no to marriage but yes to living together. Charlotte and Trey attend the Highland Fling in an attempt to forget their problems and Big gives Carrie a ride and his opinion of Aidan.
The good fight / season 4 - episode 13 Directed by: Charles McDougall Written by: Michael Patrick King Aidan and all his stuff move into Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) apartment and so Carrie starts feeling increasingly claustrophobic. Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) tease Samantha (Kim Kattrall) about her affection for her client and lover Richard. Samantha insists that her emotions are intact and that Richard is simply "Dick-alicious." Miranda, meanwhile, would love to get laid by her blind date, Walker Lewis, but is conflicted about having sex while pregnant.
All that glitters / season 4 - episode 14 Directed by: Charles McDougall Written by: Cindy Chupack Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) wonders if she has to put her single self on the shelf when in a relationship and decides to experiment with where she wears her engagement ring. Samantha (Kim Kattrall) takes Ecstasy at a club, has X-cellent sex with Richard, but ends up accidentally declaring her love for him. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) unwillingly comes out of the pregnancy closet at work. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) finds out that House and Garden wants to shoot her apartment, but Trey doesn't think their marriage will make a very pretty picture.

Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) confesses that she isn't exactly glowing over her pregnancy. Charlotte (Kristin Davis), on the other hand, attempts to get over her divorce with some tap lessons, but ends up "tapping" into her pain. Meanwhile, Samantha (Kim Kattrall) learns that Richard has been seen about town with another woman..
Ring a ding ding / season 4 - episode 16 Directed by: Alan Taylor Written by: Amy B. Harris Aidan moves out of Carries (Sarah Jessica Parker) apartment and her life only leaving an eviction notice giving her 30 days to buy back her apartment or vacate it. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is outraged at Charlotte's (Kristin Davis) lack of support when she refuses to help her in her time of financial desperation. Charlotte realizes that isn't exactly the picture of independence and hocks her engagement ring to help Carrie. Samantha (Kim Kattrall) is being showered with expensive gifts from Richard, but she's under-whelmed by the cards signed "Best, Richard."
A vogue idea / season 4 - episode 17 Directed by: Martha Coolidge Written by: Alan Heinberg Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) work is criticised by tough Vogue editor Enid (Candice Bergen); Charlotte (Kristin Davis) organises Miranda's (Cynthia Nixon) baby shower; and Richard tells Samantha (Kim Kattrall) what he really wants for his birthday.
I heart NY / season 4 - episode 18 Directed by: Martha Coolidge Written by: Michael Patrick King Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) invites herself over to Big's apartment and he tells her that he's moving to Napa, California where he bought a vineyard. At the girls' next get-together, Carrie breaks the news about Big's impending departure and wonders if she should sleep with him one last time.
