Space 1999

The Television Serie

The show involved the plight of the inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha following a calamity in which a massive series of nuclear explosions sends the Moon hurtling out of Earth's orbit and into deep space. The moon in effect becomes the "Enterprise", the "spaceship" on which our heroes travel, looking for a new home. A "space warp" conveniently serves to explain how it is the Alphans manage to meet so many intergalactic civilizations.

It was a good show and I never knew Martin Landau and Barbara Bain were married. They made a good couple, too bad about the divorce and why was Barry Morse taken off? I always thought Maya was cool, I liked her eyebrows and her shape shifting. I wonder why they never thought of having the occasional tv movie like other series have done. I guess it is those crazy Englishmen. I wish it would have lasted longer. Does anyone know why it only lasted two season?
