The first season episode guide

Children of the Gods (1) / season 1 - episode 1
Written by : Jonathan Glassner and Brad Wright
Directed by : Mario Azzopardi
First episodes are always difficult, particularly if like this one they are following a film, because in that episode you have to establish the characters and remind everyone what happened in the film as well as have enough going on to keep everyone interested. I think that they did quite well in this manner, and made you like the characters well enough, although I think they may have overdone Sam a little bit with the whole not taking any rubbish off anyone and everything. In this the pilot episode, some people came through the Stargate and killed all of the guards except one female whom they kidnapped.

Whilst Daniel was showing them this an assault team of Apophis' came through the Stargate and attacked the people by the gate, they kidnapped Skaara and Sha're and took them back to their planet.
