He is promptly committed to a mental institution, where he meets up with a white man (Leon Kompowski) who walks and talks like Michael Jackson. When Homer talks to Bart on the phone, the psychologists are amazed that such a boy can really exist. Homer is let out of the institution and invites who he thinks is Michael Jackson to his house. Lisa Simpson meanwhile is feeling let down because Bart didn't give her a present for her birthday. Michael helps Bart write a song for her, but then he confesses to being Leon and leaves.
Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington / season 3 - episode 2 Thanks to Lisa Simpson's patriotic and winning essay in a Reading Digest contest, the Simpsons win a trip to Washington DC. However, Lisa's faith in democracy is shaken when she sees her local representative taking a bribe for a permit to cut down Springfield National Forest. Deciding that the truth must be told, Lisa writes a new essay about the wrongness of today's democracy. A FBI agent finds out, and Arnold (the local representative) is arrested in a sting operation. Lisa loses the contest, but her faith in democracy is restored.
When Flanders Failed / season 3 - episode 3 Ned Flanders quits his regular job and announces at a barbecue that he is opening a mall store catering to lefties. Homer Simpson, however, wishes that Flanders would fail. Meanwhile, Bart Simpson skips karate class and goes to the arcade instead every week. Ned is failing in his new buisness. Every time a left-hander wishes they had a left-handed tool of some sort, Homer doesn't say anything. Eventually the Flanders move out, but Homer's conscience wins - he tells everyone and the Leftorium becomes a success. When Lisa Simpson is being bullied, she calls on Bart to help her, but he gets beaten up instead.
Bart the Murderer / season 3 - episode 4 After having a very lousy day of school, Bart Simpson accidentally stumbles into `The Legitimate Businessman After having a very lousy day of school, Bart accidentally stumbles into `The Legitimate Businessman Social Club', a mobster front. He becomes a bartender, but when he shows up late at work and blames Principal Skinner, Skinner disappears. It appears that Bart has got the mob to murder him, but just as his sentence is being decided, Skinner comes in and tells the true story. Bart leaves his job because the mob didn't stick up for him. Joe Mantegna and Neil Patrick Harris guest star.
Homer Defined / season 3 - episode 5 When Homer Simpson accidentally saved two nuclear plants, he becomes a hero, and is admired by his daughter, Lisa Simpson. Unluckily for Homer, he is asked to have a look around Shelbyville Nuclear Plant when he only saved his plant using the 'eeny, meeny, miney, mo' rhyme. When asked for a speech, he is at a loss for words, but then the meltdown alarms go off and he is called in. He saves another plant, but everyone realizes it was just by dumb luck. Meanwhile, Bart Simpson finds out Milhouse can't play with him anymore because he is a bad influence. The 2 mothers talk and they are allowed to be friends again. Magic Johnson and Chick Hearn guest star.
Like Father, Like Klown / season 3 - episode 6 Krusty finally drops by to have dinner with the Simpsons to thank Bart Simpson for believing him , and drops a bombshell: He real name is Krustofsky, and he is estranged from his rabbi father, who disowned him when Krusty decided to be a clown instead of a rabbi. Now, Bart vows to reunite Krusty and his father. After several unsuccessful attempts, Bart quotes a phrase from the entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. Krusty's father realizes his mistake and the pair are reunited on Krusty's show..
Tree House of Horror II / season 3 - episode 7 In the sequel to the original Treehouse of Horror, three more tales of horror. Lisa Simpson, Bart Simpson, and Homer Simpson eat too much candy, and end up having nightmares...: In The Monkey's Paw, the Simpsons, on a foreign trip, pick up a monkey's paw that gives the holder four wishes each with bad side effects. Next, In a parody of a classic Twilight Zone episode, everyone in Springfield must be happy or else something will happen to them by a monster. The monster is known as Bart Simpson, the kid with the mental powers. in Bart the Monster. Finally, Homer gets randomly fired from the nuclear power plant, and gets hired as a gravedigger. He falls asleep in the grave, and gets picked up by Mr. Burns for a cyborg experiment in Homer's Brain.
Lisa's Pony / season 3 - episode 8 After disappointing Lisa Simpson, again, Homer Simpson finally gives Lisa a pony. Now, in desperation to pay off the bills associated with owning a pony, Homer works the graveyard shift at Apu's Kwik-E-Mart. He is experiencing sleep deprivation, so Marge Simpson tells Lisa what Homer has done to pay for her pony. She realizes her selfishness and leaves the pony and comes to the Kwik-E-Mart to tell Homer. She comes out riding Homer like a horse!
Saturdays of Thunder / season 3 - episode 9 In order to build a father/son relationship, Homer Simpson helps Bart Simpson build a soapbox racer. However, when Martin crashes his racer during the time trials, Bart must make an important decision: Turn his back on his father and be Martin's replacement driver, or race in his soapbox and let Nelson win. He goes with Martin, and Homer becomes depressed and doesn't go to the race. When the racers are just getting in, Bart sees Homer in the stands. Homer had retaken the National Fatherhood Test and found he was a perfect father, so he went to see Bart. Bart wins, and Bart and Homer rub that fact in Nelson's face.
Flaming Moe's / season 3 - episode 10 Homer Simpson helps invent the hottest drink in Springfield. However, when Moe steals the recipe and turns Moe's Tavern into the hottest spot in Springfield, Homer vows revenge. Just as Moe is about to take $1,000,000 for the recipe, Homer bursts in and blurts out the secret ingredient. Afterwards, Moe forgives Homer and gives him a 'Flaming Homer' on the house. Guest stars Catherine O'Hara and the Rock band Aerosmith.

Burns buys back the plant for $50,000,000 and rehires Homer, so that one day he can wreak his revenge.
I Married Marge / season 3 - episode 12 Picking up where The Way We Was left off....The year is 1980, and Homer Simpson is working at the local miniature golfing course, living with Marge Simpson's parents, and dating Marge. Then Marge becomes pregnant with Bart Simpson. Homer gets a job at the power plant to make some money for the new baby's arrival, and Marge and Homer get married.
Radio Bart / season 3 - episode 13 It's Bart Simpson's tenth birthday. Bart receives a radio microphone, which he promptly uses to play practical jokes on everyone, including that a little boy named Timmy O'Toole has fallen down the local well. Everyone thinks a little boy really has fallen down a well, and when Bart goes to get his other radio from the bottom of the well, he falls in. When policemen come, he confesses, but they leave him in there. Homer Simpson starts to dig, and soon everyone helps. Bart is rescued.
Lisa the Greek / season 3 - episode 14 Lisa Simpson's football predicting skills brings about a closer relationship between Homer Simpson and Lisa, not to mention making Moe broke, until Lisa realizes that the relationship may end with the Super Bowl and Lisa's clever predictions. Lisa predicts for one game that if Washington wins, she'll love Homer, and if they don't she won't. Washington win, and next Sunday, Lisa and Homer go hiking.
Homer Alone / season 3 - episode 15 When the family causes Marge Simpson to flip out, she takes a vacation from it all at Rancho Relaxo, leaving Lisa Simpson and Bart Simpson with Patty and Selma (shudder), and Homer Simpson alone with Maggie Simpson. Then, Maggie goes searching for Marge. Just as Homer goes to the train station to pick up Marge and tell her the bad news, Chief Wiggum shows up with Maggie. The family go to the train station and promise to be more helpful if Marge never leaves them again.
Bart the Lover / season 3 - episode 16 When Bart Simpson finds a dating ad of Mrs. Krabappel's, he invents a lover for her. After building up the romance, Bart writes as Woodrow and tells her it was time they met. When Mrs.Krapabbel goes to the restaurant, she is heartbroken when nobody turns up. Bart tells his family, and together they write a letter to her to let Mrs.Krapabbel down easy. When she gets the letter, her spirits are lifted. Meanwhile, Homer Simpson starts building a doghouse, and learns to give up swearing.
Homer at the Bat / season 3 - episode 17 Burns bets $1,000,000 that his company team can beat a competing plant's team. In order to do so, he replaced the regular company team with new security guard Roger Clemens, new janitor Wade Boggs, lunchroom cashier Ken Griffey Jr., and other new employees like Steve Sax, Don Mattingly, Ozzie Smith, Darryl Strawberry, Jose Canseco, and Mike Scoscia . The day before the game, all the team are involved in accidents except for Strawberry, so Mr.Burns is forced to use real employees. Homer Simpson is the only one on the bench, but gets called out and after a pitch knocks out Homer, he is carried around the field as a hero. Terry Cashman also guest stars.
Separate Vocations / season 3 - episode 18 After taking the Career Aptitude Normalization Test, or CANT test, Lisa Simpson finds out she's more suited to be a homemaker, while Bart Simpson is more suited to be a police officer. While Bart enjoys his taste of authority, Lisa turns into a bad kid . Bart becomes a hall monitor, and with Principal Skinner breaks several cases, such as Nelson's forged notes. Lisa steals the teacher's editions of the schoolbooks, and Bart is sent to sort it out. When he finds the books in Lisa's locker, he pretends that it was him and gets stripped of his sash and receives 600 days of detention.
Dog of Death / season 3 - episode 19 When Santa's Little Helper suffers from a twisted stomach, the Simpsons sacrifice in order to pay for a life saving operation. However, when the family's morale suffers from the cuts, the dog runs away, and quickly becomes one of Mr. Burns' hounds. When Bart Simpson comes looking for his dog, Mr.Burns sends out the hounds, but Santa's Little Helper recognizes him and protects him from all the other dogs. Bart takes him home, where he is given a warm welcome back.
Colonel Homer / season 3 - episode 20 After a particularly bad movie experience, Homer Simpson drives to a bar where he discovers a singer named Lurleen Lumpkin. Now, Colonel Homer is her manager, much to Marge Simpson's disgust. When Lurleen asks Homer to spend the night with her, he feels guilty and sells her contract for $50. He then goes home to Marge and they watch TV as Lurleen sings how lucky Marge is. Beverly D'Angelo guest stars as Lurleen Lumpkin.
Black Widower / season 3 - episode 21 Sideshow Bob gets paroled, and marries Selma. However, Bart Simpson suspects that Sideshow Bob has something else up his sleeve. He sees the honeymoon video, and thinks something is not right. He and the police arrive just in time to save Selma from Bob's plot. The story unravels as Bart tells how he worked it out. Bart sees Bob complain for a room with a fireplace, and Selma tell how she has no sense of smell from a bottle-rocket accident. Bob leaves the gas on in the room and goes outside, and if it weren't for Bart, Selma would have blown herself up lighting a cigarette and in that given all her life savings to Bob. Luckily, she is saved.
The Otto Show / season 3 - episode 22 Otto loses his job driving the school bus, partially because he doesn't have a driver's license, and, after being kicked out of his apartment, goes to live with the Simpsons. Bart Simpson, meanwhile, has gone to a Spinal Tap concert and wants to learn the guitar. When he sees Otto playing his guitar, Bart sees he cannot play. When Otto does his driving test, he fails because Patty is at the DMV and he asks her if she was always female. He takes the test again, but only to spite Homer Simpson. When Patty finds out that he dislikes Homer, she makes sure he passes the exam and Otto moves out. Spinal Tap guest star.
Bart's Friend Falls in Love / season 3 - episode 23 Bart Simpson and Milhouse enter the age of cooties, when Milhouse dates a new girl... without her father knowing it. Bart is disgusted when he lookes in his treehouse and sees Milhouse and Samantha kissing. To spite Milhouse for not playing with him anymore, Bart tells Samantha's father, and he catches them. When Samantha gets sent to another school, Bart and Milhouse come and see her at break. Bart apologizes, and Milhouse has one last kiss. Meanwhile, Homer Simpson tries to lose weight by listening to a subliminal tape. It turns out to be a vocabulary tape, and Homer becomes suddenly articulate. Kimmy Robertson guest stars.
Brother Can You Spare Two Dimes? / season 3 - episode 24 Herbert Powell returns, and asks the Simpsons help for an invention idea of his, using the money Homer Simpson received from the nuclear plant for some bogus award. His invention is a baby-talk translator, and Herbert becomes rich again. He pays Homer back the money, and buys various presents for each member of the family. Guest stars Joe Frazier and Danny DeVito. report error and omissions here
