Bart finds the view boring until he sees Ned Flanders murdering his wife. Lisa Simpson helps Bart gather evidence, but when they confront Ned he explains that he only buried Maude's favourite plant. Lisa's Rival / season 6 - episode 2 It looks as if Lisa Simpson's days as the class brain are numbered when the new student proves to be smarter, younger, and plays the sax better than her. She feels increasingly average, and gets Bart Simpson to sabotage Alison's project and replace it with a cow's heart in a bag. However, Lisa's conscience wins over and she uncover's Alison's original project. They both lose to Ralph's display of action figures and make friends. Meanwhile, Homer Simpson strikes white gold in the form of an over-turned sugar truck but it dissolves in a rainstorm. Winona Ryder guest stars. Another Simpson Clip Show / season 6 - episode 3 A romance novel prompts Marge Simpson to have a family meeting to discuss the values of love and past romances. Homer Simpson and Marge tell the kids their affairs with Mindy and Jacques the bowling instrustor respectively, and Bart Simpson remembers how he was heartbroken over Laura Powers. Remembering so much anguish makes Marge nearly give up the stories, but Homer reminds her that the two of them got it right and they kiss. Bart and Lisa Simpson then leave and go to watch "The Itchy & Scratchy Show". Itchy & Scratchyland / season 6 - episode 4 The family's trip to Itchy & Scratchy Land is going well until the robots go beserk. Thanks to Homer Simpson and Bart Simpson abusing park employees, they are not rescued. The Simpsons use their cameras as weapons when they find out that the robots are destroyed by the flash. They destroy all the robots. Marge Simpson admits it was the best holiday the family has ever had, but never to speak of it again. Sideshow Bob Roberts / season 6 - episode 5 With the help of a radio talk show host, Mayor Quimby is pressured into releasing Sideshow Bob from prison. Once out, Bob promptly runs against the mayor and wins. Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson set out to prove Mayor Bob didn't win legally. They find that most of the voters for Bob were dead people, and trick him into confessing he rigged the system. He is sentenced to a minimum security prison. Tree House of Horror V / season 6 - episode 6 In a Outer Limits parody, The Simpsons presents three tales of horror... In “The Shinning,”, no TV and no beer makes Homer Simpson go insane at an isolated mountain lodge and only Bart Simpson's shinning can save the family. Next, Ned Flanders becomes the ruler of a George Orwellian world after Homer adversely uses a toaster to change the past in “Time and Punishment”. Finally, overcrowding at the school's detention room and budget cuts in the cafeteria leads Principal Skinner to come up with a unique single solution in "Nightmare Cafeteria", that is, eating the students.. Bart's Girlfriend / season 6 - episode 7 Bart Simpson's infatuation with the Reverend's daughter is short-lived when she steals the church collection plate and he is blamed for the theft. Lisa Simpson addresses the congregation and they search Jessica's room where they find the money. Jessica admits she stole the money, explaining that all she wanted was attention. Meryl Streep guest stars. Lisa on Ice / season 6 - episode 8 Sibling rivalry breaks out on and off the ice when Lisa Simpson proves to be a better hockey player than Bart Simpson. Both teams end up playing each other in a match. When Bart is in a penalty shot against Lisa to decide the game, they take their equipment off and hug each other, causing a tie. Homer Badman / season 6 - episode 9 Homer's life comes crashing down on him when a simple grab for a candy treat is misinterpreted is sexual harassment by the family's new baby-sitter. He is surrounded in their house by protesters, and agrees to a talk with reporter Godfrey Jones, who twists the story and makes it even worse. Homer Simpson appears on public TV and declares his innocence, but no one is watching at the time. Groundskeeper Willy shows Homer a tape that clears him, as Willy secretly videos couples in their cars. Dennis Franz guest stars. Grandpa vs. Sexual Inadequacy / season 6 - episode 10 Grampa Simpson's love tonic saves Homer Simpson and Marge Simpson's sex life, but breaks the bond between father and son. Homer tries to give Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson the attention they deserve, but they tell him they liked it best with hardly any attention. Homer and Grandpa each return separately to a farmhouse where they had an argument, and Homer finds that his father did care about him after all. Accidentally setting the farmhouse on fire, Homer and Grandpa both admit that they are "screw-ups". Fear of Flying / season 6 - episode 11 Marge Simpson's fear of flying is revealed after the family earns a free trip to almost any state of their choice. To help overcome her fear, Marge visits a psychiatrist played by Anne Bancroft. Marge remembers back to the time when she found out that her father was an air steward, not a pilot as she was told. The psychiatrist tells Marge that her father led the way for air stewards today, and her fear is overcome. Guest appearances by Ted Danson, Woody Harrelson, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger and George Wendt . Homer the Great / season 6 - episode 12 Homer Simpson joins a secret society, where his greatness is revealed, but only after he destroys the secret parchment and stripped of his membership. Homer enjoys having disciples do everything he wants, but is rejected when Lisa Simpson tells Homer to use his newfound power to help others. The Stonecutters form a new society, and one of the major rules is: "No Homers!" Patrick Stewart guest stars. And Maggie Makes Three / season 6 - episode 13 When Lisa Simpson wonders what happened to Maggie Simpson's photos in the family album, she prompts Homer Simpson to tell the story on how he had to give up his dream job when Maggie was born. He had left the power plant when he got a paycheck clearing him of all his debts, and Homer takes a job at a bowling alley, fulfilling his life-long dream. However, when Homer finds out of Marge Simpson's pregnancy, he is devestated. Homer returns to the power plant, but is unhappy. He covers the demoralizing sign on the wall with pictures of Maggie. Bart's Comet / season 6 - episode 14 Springfield's days are numbered when Bart Simpson discovers a comet (named after him) is heading straight for them. Now they must decide who will brave the comet's arrival and who can stay in the Flanders' bomb shelter. A rocket is launched to try to destroy the comet, but it misses and destroys the only bridge out of town. Flander's shelter is crowded, so Homer Simpson kicks Ned out. Feeling guilty, Homer and the others step outside. When it enters the atmosphere, the comet becomes harmlessly small, and hits Flander's empty shelter, causing it to collapse. Homie the Clown / season 6 - episode 15 Homer Simpson's new job as a Krusty The Clown knock-off lands him in deep waters when mobsters want to give him a pair of cement clown shoes, thinking he's the real Krusty. Homer is ordered to do a trick to save his life, and he flunks it. The real Krusty then arrives, and they perform the trick together with flair, and are spared. Homer quits because the job is running him ragged. Joe Mantegna and Johnny Unitas guest star. Bart vs. Australia / season 6 - episode 16 The government of Australia isn't impressed with Bart Simpson 's prank phone call and demand that he apologies in person. The problem is that Bart's apology involves a large boot and Bart's backside. Homer Simpson and Bart escape, and a chase starts. When he is caught Bart moons the Prime Minister, and the family escapes by helicopter. Meanwhile, thanks to Bart releasing a cane toad on his arrival, the country is overrun with them when he leaves. Homer vs. Patty and Selma / season 6 - episode 17 Homer Simpson's latest money making scheme backfires and he goes to Patty and Selma as the last resort to borrow money. However, they blackmail him and Homer has to wait on them hand and foot. When the sisters admit what Homer has done to Marge Simpson, he kicks them out. When he becomes a limousine driver and is caught for not having a license, Patty and Selma fail him at the DMV. When Homer takes the blame for the sisters' cigarettes, they reluctantly pay off Homer's debt. Meanwhile, Bart Simpson takes up ballet and wears a mask. When he takes it off, everyone laughs at him. Mel Brooks and Susan Sarandon guest star. A Star is Burns / season 6 - episode 18 In order to boost the town's sagging popularity, the people of Springfield holds a Film Festival to attract more tourists. Marge Simpson invites Jay "The Critic" Sherman to guest judge. Burns uses the festival to improve his own image, however when Burns's film is shown it is booed. He bribes two members of the jury to vote for his film. Barney's entry wins nevertheless and Burns is disgusted. He takes his film to the Oscars and loses to a remake of "Football in the Groin". Jon Lovitz guest stars. Lisa's Wedding / season 6 - episode 19 Lisa Simpson attends the Springfield Renaissance Faire, where a deck of fortune-teller cards spells out future wedding plans. In the future, Lisa meets a man called Hugh from Britian, and finds that after a while she adores him. Hugh asks for her hand in marriage and she accepts, but realizes it was a mistake when Hugh refuses to see Lisa's family when they are married. The fortune-teller ends her tale by saying that she specializes in fortelling unsuccessful relationships, but Lisa will find a true love one day. Mandy Patinkin guest stars. Two Dozen and One Greyhounds / season 6 - episode 20 Santa's Little Helper's frisky nature nets the Simpsons a new dog and 25 spanking new puppies. When Burns steals the young greyhounds, Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson set out to discover why he wants them. It turns out he wants to make a tuxedo out of them, but Bart and Lisa show Mr.Burns how special all the puppies are when he can't pick his favourite one out. Burns raises the puppies as racing dogs and earns millions of dollars. The PTA Disbands / season 6 - episode 21 A few weeks away from school is what Dr. Bart Simpson has ordered when he successfully schemes to have the teachers go on strike. Meanwhile, Lisa Simpson tries to cope with the situation when she gets withdrawal symptoms. But much to Bart's surprise the school reopens and Marge Simpson is his new teacher. Bart hates it and he makes a scheme to get the school running again by the two leaders of the opposing groups being locked in a room. It works, and the school returns to normal. Round Springfield / season 6 - episode 22 While visiting Bart Simpson in the hospital, Lisa Simpson learns a real-life lesson when a fellow patient is Bleeding Gums Murphy and he tells his life story for the last time. When he offers Lisa his saxophone for her recital, she is depressed when she finds he has died and no one knew who he was. Bart buys Lisa Bleeding Gums Murphy's album using $500 from a legal settlement from eating a jagged metal Krusty-O and needing his appendix removed. It is played on the radio thanks to a request from Lisa, but the station is low-power - until a bolt of lightning strikes it and it is broadcast all over Springfield. Guest starring Steve Allen and Ron Taylor Springfield Connection / season 6 - episode 23 There's a new cop in town and her name is Marge Simpson. Her job is to clean up the town of its criminals. Unfortunately, not all the criminals are on the street as Marge soon discovers. When Homer Simpson commits a parking violation, she orders him to move the car, but he only laughs at her. When he takes her hat, Marge puts him under arrest. Homer is released, but when he is playing a poker game he hears that Herman is running a counterfeit jeans ring in Homer's garage and Homer threatens to expose him. When Herman's henchmen come for Homer, Marge saves the day. When learning that Wiggum and his men have taken the jeans for themselves, Marge is disgusted with the corruption inside the police and she resigns. Who Shot Mr. Burns? (1) / season 6 - episode 24 It's bad enough that Mr. Burns steals the newly discovered oil under Springfield Elementary, but it's going too far when he steals the town's sunshine as revenge when the town rises against him.
