A Tale of Two Springfields / season 12 - episode 2 After Springfield's telephone area code splits in two, Homer Simpson spearheads a movement to divide the town itself in half along the new area code line. It succeeds, but soon everyone moves to the other side of Homer, and the Simpsons are the only ones left in their area. To attract more people, Homer gets The Who to play for them, but they find out it's not the large crowd they expected. Guest starring The Who.
Insane Clown Poppy / season 12 - episode 3 Krusty takes parenting lessons from Homer Simpson when he discovers that he has a daughter about Bart Simpson's age from a one-night stand. He sells his daughter's violin in a gambling game with Fat Tony, and Krusty and Homer go to steal the violin from the Mafia. They succeed, even though there are dozens of violin cases all containing guns. Running away, they drop them and run with the gunfire as cover. Guest starring Drew Barrymore as Sophie and Stephen King.
Lisa the Tree Hugger / season 12 - episode 4 Eager to join "Dirt First" after witnessing their pro-vegetarianism demonstration atop the local Krusty Burger franchise, Lisa Simpson attempts to prove her worth by camping out in a giant redwood destined for logging. When she has a quick check at home to check that everything's okay, she comes back to find that lightning has struck the tree down and everyone thinks she is dead! She tells the astonished crowd she is still alive, but the logger still builds "Lisa Land" anyway. The Dirt First leader cuts the guy ropes holding the redwood up as an advertisement, and we see its travels at the end of the episode. Meanwhile, Bart Simpson joins the workforce in order to buy a new game console advertised on television.
Homer vs. Dignity / season 12 - episode 5 Short on funds, Homer Simpson approaches the ever-wealthy C. Montgomery Burns for a token raise. But when Burns grants his request on the condition that Homer act as his personal jester, the Simpson family finds itself the subject of degrading and embarassing activities.
The Computer Wore Menace Shoes / season 12 - episode 6 After realizing that he's missing the cyberspace boat, Homer Simpson plugs into the internet and builds a web site. But when low traffic hits him where it hurts, he resorts to spicing up his page with damaging gossip concerning fellow townsfolk. One of his rumors is true (unluckily for Homer) and he is captured and sent to a secret island. He escapes and gets rid of the German imitator of Homer, but the Simpsons are all captured when the dog sprays sleeping gas on them. Guest starring Patrick McGoohan as Prisoner #6.
The Great Money Caper / season 12 - episode 7 Strapped for cash, Homer Simpson and Bart Simpson thumb their way through "A Child's Garden of Cons" in search of the road to easy money. They keep on conning, but are eventually conned by the rest of Springfield. Springfield conned Homer with Groundskeeper Willy being arrested when Homer and Bart say the car was stolen by him, and then they pretend that Willy goes mad. Homer and Bart learn their lesson, and everyone goes surfing.
Skinner's Sense of Snow / season 12 - episode 8 When a large storm snows in Springfield Elementary, the children are trapped inside for the holidays and soon rebel against Principal Skinner. They tie him up and soon the children are running the school. Ned and Homer Simpson rescue the children, but only after destroying a peanut factory and nearly dying from car fumes.
HOMR / season 12 - episode 9 When doctors find and remove a crayon lodged in Homer Simpson's brain, his true IQ emerges, leading to a strong relationship with Lisa Simpson. But his relationship with others falls out once his new-found competence in safety inspecting leads to the closure of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Homer puts another crayon back in, as he enjoys being smart, but he prefers his old lifestyle.
Pokey Mom / season 12 - episode 10 Following a prison rodeo, Marge Simpson befriends an inmate whom she considers undeserving of incarceration, and eventually sees to his release. He is commissioned to paint the Springfield Elementary mural, but Skinner says it is too violent and the released inmate has to paint a sickly, happy picture. He overdoes it, and then burns the school. When he tries to burn something else, Marge admits she may have been wrong. Guest starring Michael Keaton as Jack, and Charles Napier as the prison warden.
Worst Episode Ever / season 12 - episode 11 The Comic Book Guy has a heart attack after witnessing the work of special make-up effects master Tom Savini, giving Bart Simpson and Milhouse their cue to babysit the Android's Dungeon. In a fight over Milhouse buying the new comic 'Bicylops' and no one buying it, Bart and Milhouse discover secret videos in Comic Book Guy's basement. Meanwhile, Comic Book Guy falls in love with Skinner's mother. He is arrested when the police raid the store and find the secret videos. The police are disgusted at his relationship.
Tennis the Menace / season 12 - episode 12 The Simpsons build a tennis court and soon have famous tennis players coming over. Meanwhile, Grandpa Simpson receives an award from the Springfield Retirement Castle.
Day of the Jackanapes / season 12 - episode 13 Upon learning that Krusty has erased all the archival tapes of his show from the Sideshow Bob era, Bob schemes to use Bart Simpson (while hypnotized) to blow up Krusty live on the air. When Krusty tells of how he misses Bob on his last show, Sideshow Bob realizes his mistake and tries to stop Bart, but luckily Krusty's monkey drops Bart's explosives into another room, killing Krusty's executives. Krusty and Sideshow Bob are re-united. Guest starring Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob.
New Kids on the Blecch / season 12 - episode 14 When a talent agency discovers the musical abilities of Bart Simpson, Nelson, Milhouse and Ralph, it scurries to set them up as the next big boy band sensation: complete with a sinister subliminal propaganda campaign in mind, i.e. Join the Navy! When the Navy lieutenant running the operation is exposes, he turns off the popstar machine, and the four kids sound terrible.
Hungry Hungry Homer / season 12 - episode 15 After Homer Simpson discovers that the Springfield Isotopes are being moved to Albuquerque, he stages a hunger strike outside the stadium. When everyone realizes that Homer is right, they chuck food to him. The Springfield Isotopes are saved.
Bye Bye Nerdy / season 12 - episode 16 Lisa Simpson seeks protection from schoolyard roughnecks after becoming the target of a new student's own flavor of harassment. She discovers that bullies are attracted to hit nerds by their smell. She demonstrates this in front of some scientists (including the bully's parents), and they are amazed at her discovery, until the bully arrives and hits everyone.
Simpson Safari / season 12 - episode 17 A belated prize awaits Homer Simpson in his next box of animal crackers, one which starts the family out on an exotic trip to Ngorongoro, Africa. They visit a chimp naturalist, and they discover that she is using the chimps to mine diamonds. Greenpeace comes in, but the Simpsons don't tell anyone - mainly because they go home with pockets of diamonds!
Trilogy of Error / season 12 - episode 18 In a “Run, Lola, Run” parody, a breakfast accident involving Marge Simpson's kitchen knife and Homer Simpson's thumb is seen through the eyes of individual family members. While Homer & Marge make a mad dash for the hospital, Lisa Simpson takes her linguistic robot to the Springfield science fair, and Bart Simpson runs afoul of Fat Tony's illegal fireworks ring. Guest starring Joe Mantegna as Fat Tony.
I'm Goin' to Praiseland / season 12 - episode 19 When Ned discovers that one of Maude's goals was to build a bible-themed amusement park, he reunites with Rachel in order to fulfill her dream. But when an accident dupes the public into believing that the park was the site of a miracle, Ned is forced to decide between revealing the truth versus enjoying his increased profits. Guest starring Shawn Colvin as Rachel Jordan.
Children of a Lesser Clod / season 12 - episode 20 Homer Simpson opens a new day care center at home after breaking his ankle at the local YMCA, and soon tries to get his kids into Ron Howard's latest film project. Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson feel they are being neglected, and expose Homer at the showing, displaying who he really is.
Simpsons Tall Tales / season 12 - episode 21 A rail-riding hobo tells the tales of American legends, leading to Homer Simpson imagine himself as Paul Bunyan, Lisa Simpson as Connie Appleseed versus the wagon train pioneers, and Bart Simpson and Nelson as Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn in a rafting adventure on the Mississippi.
