Back in DC, Scully and Mulder learn that the FBI isn't going to reopen the X-Files (as was said in the movie, so we either have a contradiction or the ending of the movie has yet to happen and will occur later on this season this one is probably the case). Mulder's office is given to the other FBI agent, the son of CSM and also Mulder's woman FBI friend played by Mimi Rogers.
Drive / season 6 - episode 2 Writer: Vince Gilligan Director: Rob Bowman Mulder and Scully go on a stupid, small check up on a man who just bought a huge buy of bomb making material and see that there is a chase in which a man and his wife are in the car and her head explodes. Mulder and Scully go to investigate the death in Nevada, even though they weren't supposed to be there. Scully learns that there is a strange device inside the dead woman's head that exploded.
Triangle / season 6 - episode 3 Writer: Chris Carter Director: Chris Carter Mulder gets stuck in the Bermuda Triangle on a ship that was lost during WWII. He is picked up by the ship and is considered a Nazi spy. Meanwhile, Scully is contacted by the Lone Gunmen and she begins her own search for Mulder that she gathers from Skinner, who she then kisses on the lips. Back on the ship, Mulder spends his time running around trying to figure out what is going on as he comes into contact with people that look like Scully,
Dreamland / season 6 - episode 4 Writer: Vince Gilligan, Frank Spotnitz and John Shiban Director: Kim Manners Mulder and Scully are going out to the area of Area 51 in Nevada to contact an informant when a few Broncos pull them over and an UFO appears and suddenly Mulder and the man he was talking to change places. The "new Mulder" now goes off with Scully as the original Mulder takes the place of his informant and goes off to Area 51. Back in DC, Scully and the new Mulder are ridiculed for going to Area 51 and he admits that he will never do that again.
Dreamland II / season 6 - episode 5 Writers: Vince Gilligan & Frank Spotnitz & John Shiban Director: Michael Watkins Scully begins to suspect that her partner's strange behavior is more than it appears to be, while Mulder fights to return his life to normal before it's too late. Part two of two.
How The Ghosts Stole Christmas / season 6 - episode 6 Written by Chris Carter Directed by Chris Carter It's late Christmas Eve. Telling tales of star-crossed lovers who forged a pact to be together for eternity, Mulder lures Scully into the darkened mansion that the ghost couple purportedly haunts. Once inside, the front door locks behind the duo and traps them inside. Mulder believes it is the work of the ghosts who inhabit the house. Scully, ever the skeptic, instructs Mulder on the psychology of peoples' need to believe in the afterlife as a means to satisfy their fear of mortality.
Terms of Endearment / season 6 - episode 7 Writer: David Amann Director: Rob Bowman After an ultrasound reveals abnormal growths on her fetus, the expectant mother dreams that a demonic figure takes the child, which is also a demon. The woman then awakens covered in blood and is no longer pregnant.
Rain King / season 6 - episode 8 Writer: Jeffrey Bell Director: Kim Manners In a small town plagued by drought, Mulder and Scully come upon a man who claims to be able to control the weather at a hefty profit. Yet the agents discover a force of nature at work even more powerful than the weather and just as unpredictable.
S.R. 819 / season 6 - episode 9 Writer: John Shiban Director: Daniel Sackheim When Walter Skinner falls seriously ill, Mulder and Scully suspect foul play within the government structure and start poking around the FBI hallways for information.
Tithonus / season 6 - episode 10 Writer: Vince Gilligan Director: Michael Watkins Paired with a new partner, Agent Scully investigates a crime scene photographer whose subjects may in fact be his victims.
