Nothing Important Happened Today / season 9 - episode 1

Scully is forced to face the question as to why the aliens did not take her baby. Meanwhile, although warned off of investigating further FBI connections to a possible alien conspiracy by Assistant Director Brad Follmer, Doggett and Reyes move forward in their attempts to find proof that Mulder's theories and suspicions were actually correct. Their investigation leads them to the mysterious Shannon McMahon, who holds clues to a shocking government cover-up with possible ties to Scully's baby and the FBI. Part one of two.

With Scully's baby showing signs of being something other than entirely human, questions are raised about her baby's connection to a government conspiracy. Doggett searches for clues and has his life both threatened and saved by Shannon McMahon. Reyes continues the battle back at the FBI, while keeping an eye on the potentially double-dealing Assistant Director Follmer, as some questions get answered and new ones alarmingly rise to the surface. Part two of two.

When Doggett and Reyes investigate a bizarre double murder that seems to have ritualistic elements, Doggett, ever the skeptic, is only drawn to the facts, while Reyes thinks there is a much more evil source behind the killings. Reyes admits her suspicions to Scully, who encourages her to explore an alternative path. Led by the declarations of a patient in a hospital for the criminally insane, Doggett and Reyes race to piece together the evidence, which alarmingly points to the paranormal and the possibility of an even greater presence of evil.


4-D / season 9 - episode 4

Agent Reyes is shocked when she is accused by Assistant Director Brad Follmer of the attempted murder of her partner Agent Doggett - especially when Doggett was with her in her apartment at the time Follmer claims Doggett was shot. Reyes is confused when she sees for herself that Doggett is indeed in the hospital barely hanging onto life. Doggett is just as surprised to see her since the last time they were together, she had been viciously attacked by a criminal who has defied all FBI attempts to capture him.

Called in to investigate the bizarre death of a teenager who died while performing a crazy stunt for a cable television show, Agents Scully, Doggett and Reyes uncover shocking evidence to suggest that it's not the stunt that killed him, but something far more sinister. As they delve deeper into the case, the agents discover clues that point to a surprising culprit and must suspend their disbelief and race against time to find answers before the suspect strikes again.

Contacted by a mysterious man claiming to have information about Mulder and the "super soldiers" that drove him into hiding, Scully, Reyes and Doggett are forced into an awkward situation with the potential to place Mulder in even more danger. Though Reyes and Doggett oppose the idea of helping this odd man, Scully's emotional bonds with the father of her child and her intense desire to see him once again cause her to momentarily let her guard down and invite a total stranger into her world of intense secrecy.


John Doe / season 9 - episode 7

When Doggett is found wandering a dusty Mexican town with no knowledge of his identity or memory of his past, he struggles to piece together an understanding of who he is and how he came to be in this strange place. He slowly discovers key pieces of information linked to the mystery of his whereabouts and regains the memories of his past.

Convinced it is an X-File, Reyes is drawn to a murder where the victim has been skinned alive. Yet she is unsure why she has such a strange connection to the case.

When a series of incidents brings up not only frightening memories but also physical evidence of previous exposure to extraterrestrial spacecraft, Scully investigates evidence that suggests her baby may be even more "special" than previously imagined. When Doggett and Reyes discover that Scully and her child have been put in great danger, they race to protect her and her son William from the evil forces pursuing her, and Scully is forced to take drastic measures to protect her child. Part one of two.

Scully, anxious to recover her son William from his kidnappers and frustrated with the FBI's attempts to assist in the investigation, must take matters into her own hands to track him down. With the help of the Lone Gunmen, Scully discovers terrifying information about her child's captors, and is once again forced to confront the mystery regarding the sinister interest in her son. Part two of two.


Audrey Pauley / season 9 - episode 11

When injuries sustained from a horrible car accident put Agent Reyes in a coma with a very grim prognosis for recovery, Doggett enlists Scully's help to try to bring her back to life. While Doggett and Scully race against time to find answers and save Reyes, Doggett is shocked to discover someone who may be able to help him communicate with Reyes directly to try to bring her out of her coma before it is too late.


Underneath / season 9 - episode 12

A case Doggett solved in the past is re-opened when a series of brutal and unexplained murders have been determined an X-file. While Doggett maintains he caught the right perpetrator the first time around and is convinced the now-released killer will strike again, Reyes and Scully are at odds with Doggett on potential suspects for their current case. When Reyes discovers Doggett's culprit may have extraordinary powers that enable him to seamlessly commit murder without detection, they must race to stop him.

Studying case files from a recent murder and a series of unexplained past killings, Reyes puts her spiritual beliefs to use when she uses numerology to deduct that a single serial killer is behind a series of murders. Racing to find the killer before he strikes again, Reyes and Scully are subtly given clues by a mysterious stranger with an unlikely connection to both the agents and the killer.


Scary Monsters / season 9 - episode 14

Agent Leyla Harrison returns to present a case to Scully, Doggett and Reyes involving a woman's mysterious death. Despite the agents' initial reluctance to accept the case as an X-file, Harrison convinces them to investigate the victim's death as the possible result of her husband's shocking ability to control frightening creatures creatures that have now trapped his son and the agents in a very deadly situation.

When Doggett, Reyes and Scully are approached by "black-ops" shadow figure Morris Fletcher with information regarding the Super Soldiers who threatened Mulder, they turn to the Lone Gunmen for assistance. Meanwhile, the Gunman are knee-deep in a bio-terrorist's plot to release a deadly toxin into the world.

Doggett confronts and subdues a grotesquely disfigured man lurking in the X-Files office who explains that he is seeking out information for Agent Mulder. Agent Scully is skeptical of the man's motives, but when an examination indicates his DNA matches that of the long-missing Mulder, Scully is horrified to think this could be her former partner. Meanwhile, Scully is forced to make a heart-wrenching decision to protect the safety of her child.

When a mysterious death leads Scully, Doggett and Reyes to a seemingly quiet suburban neighborhood, events unfold that validate the continued existence of the X-Files. As they dig deeper into the case, clues lead them to a man with an obsession with "The Brady Bunch" and they soon discover he may not be who he claims. Once inside the exact replica of the suspect's "Brady" house, the agents witness the man's remarkable abilities that may change the way scientists and skeptics view the world.


The Truth / season 9 - episode 19

In the show's highly anticipated and climatic series finale, Agent Mulder is on trial for murder, leading to a military tribunal at which he must attempt to save his own life by justifying the existence of the X-Files, as well as proving the existence of extra-terrestrials, while battling the influence of a government with a very different, and deadly, agenda. As answers to questions raised over the nine-year run of the series are revealed, consequences of the exposure to the truth on the lives of Mulder, Scully, Doggett, Reyes and Skinner become intensely apparent.
