Orphan of War / season 2 - episode 1

On a mission of peace, Xena and Gabrielle return to the Centaur village that Xena's evil army devastated years before. The two are soon attacked by warriors under the command of Dagnine, a ruthless leader in Xena's former army. The warrior princess makes quick work of several of her assailants before a group of armed Centaurs arrives on the scene. Led by the regal Kaleipus, the Centaurs regard Xena with a mixture of fear and hatred.

A group of hooded marauders mount an attack on the Temple of the Fates, unaware that Xena and Gabrielle are praying inside. Startled by the scream of a fleeing acolyte, Xena races outside and stops the charging invaders with a series of dazzling, acrobatic fighting maneuvers. After killing their ruthless leader Caputius , the warrior princess whirls around to drive off one last axe-wielding attacker, who inadvertently impales himself on her upraised sword.


The Giant Killer / season 2 - episode 3

While visiting the giant Goliath, an old friend who has been working as a guard for the Philistine leader Dagon, Xena watches as a group of Israelites is arrested for hunting game in the Philistine forests. Convinced that Dagon is trying to enslave the half-starved prisoners and their people, she turns to Goliath for help in freeing them. Goliath, however, can think of nothing but revenge against a rival giant named Gareth for his family's murder.


Girls Just Wanna Have Fun / season 2 - episode 4

When Xena and Gabrielle save Joxer from being torn apart by three wolves in the Bacchae forest, the lovable rogue tells them he has come on a mission of vital importance. They are shocked when he presents them with the talking head of the god Orpheus. Orpheus, whose music once kept the evil god Bacchus and his army of deadly, feral maidens subdued, explains that Bacchus has cursed him by taking his body, leaving him his eyes and ears to observe the horror he brings to the world.


Return of Callisto / season 2 - episode 5

Callisto , the fierce woman warrior who has vowed revenge on Xena for the death of her family, manages to escape a brutal Mycenaean prison through her awesome strength and cunning, leaving a string of murdered guards in her wake. Meanwhile, Xena and Gabrielle are awakened in the middle of the night by Perdicas, a warrior once engaged to marry Gabrielle. Determined to be done with killing, Perdicas declares his undying love for Gabrielle and proposes to her once again.


Warrior... Princess... Tramp / season 2 - episode 6

Fearing his death is near, King Lias summons Xena to his kingdom to ensure that his daughter Diana's succession will be a smooth one. Physically, Diana looks like Xena's double, though she's far different in temperament. Supposedly arriving long before Xena, Gabrielle is surprised to find Joxer in a tavern near the castle, babbling about a romantic encounter he had with the warrior princess that morning. Thinking the flighty Joxer has somehow confused a dream with reality, Gabrielle heads for the palace and is amazed to find Xena, along with a mysterious companion named Agis, already there, way ahead of schedule.


Intimate Stranger / season 2 - episode 7

In the aftermath of Callisto's agonizing death in a pit of quicksand, Xena's dreams are invaded by the evil woman warrior and by Ares. Both prey upon her deep-seated guilt at having let Callisto die, no matter how wicked she was. Xena's deeply disturbing visions awaken her every night as she and Gabrielle continue to pursue Callisto's evil lieutenant Theodorus. Determined to bring him and his men to justice, the two track Theodorus to a deserted village, where they arrive just in time to save the hapless Joxer from certain execution.


Ten Little Warlords / season 2 - episode 8

Xena, still trapped in the body of her nemesis Callisto, is sitting by the campfire one night when she and Gabrielle are surprised by the arrival of Joxer. Searching his pockets, he quickly produces a scroll containing an important message meant for the real Callisto, who is still languishing in Xena's body in the Underworld. Her curiosity aroused, Xena opens the scroll to find an invitation from Ares, the god of war, to attend a meeting of warlords in a small seaside village nearby.


A Solstice Carol / season 2 - episode 9

Xena and Gabrielle arrive in the kingdom of King Silvus full of festive Winter Solstice spirit, but quickly fall prey to the cunning young pickpocket Lynal , who steals Xena's chakram when he thinks she's not looking. Curious about the boy, the warrior princess and Gabrielle follow him to an orphanage where they find a group of clean but threadbare children in the care of a wonderful matronly woman, Melana . There, perched on top of a partially decorated pine tree, is Xena's chakram, adorned with colorful ribbons.


The Xena Scrolls / season 2 - episode 10

The year is 1940. Dr. Janice Covington, a tough and determined young archeologist, is supervising work on a Macedonian dig. She and her men are searching for the key to unlock a tomb containing the ancient Xena Scrolls, the most important archeological find of the century, when Melinda Pappas, the daughter of a world renowned archeologist and a student in the field herself, arrives unexpectedly.

The ever-opportunistic Salmoneus urgently summons Xena and Gabrielle to ask for help in keeping the peace in the kingdom where he's organizing the Miss Known World Beauty Pageant. It seems that The Doge of Messini, the Regent of Skiros and the Palatine of Parnassus, area leaders who signed a peace treaty a year earlier, have all entered their girlfriends in the contest and since then, props have been wrecked, costumes ripped and the girls attacked by low-life thugs.

When Gabrielle is kidnapped by a tribe of barbarian mountain people led by the brutal Sitacles, Xena attacks their primitive camp, quickly disabling many of the men. Waging a spectacular battle singlehandedly, she manages to free Gabrielle and a group of slave girls, who escape into the surrounding woods. Sitacles also flees into the woods where he is confronted by Xena.

A grief-stricken Gabrielle is on her way back to Amphipolis with Xena's casket when she is ambushed by several club-wielding thugs, who attempt to steal Xena's body. After driving them into the woods with her staff, Gabrielle is suddenly surrounded by five Amazons, who drop down from the trees on ropes. As they remove their masks, she is happy to see the smiling face of her close friend Ephiny.


A Necessary Evil / season 2 - episode 14

As Xena and Gabrielle prepare to leave the Amazon village, Gabrielle hands over her Mask of the Queen to Ephiny in front of the cheering community. But the joyous occasion is soon interrupted by Velasca, who staggers into their midst, dragging one leg, her body caked in dried blood. All are amazed at her return, having presumed she was killed when impaled on spikes during the battle at Ambrosia Hall.


A Day in the Life / season 2 - episode 15

Xena and Gabrielle are awakened early one morning when a band of warriors surrounds their campsite and launches an attack. The two make quick work of the assailants and learn from their leader Largo that he and his men have been dispatched by the ruthless warlord Zagreus to make sure Xena doesn't get in the way of his plans to loot the village of Piedmon. The warrior princess and Gabrielle set out immediately for Piedmon, but are soon intercepted by Hower from the village of Laurel.


For Him The Bell Tolls / season 2 - episode 16

Responding to an urgent message from King Lias, Xena heads off alone for a few days, leaving Gabrielle and Joxer behind. Meanwhile, a distraught Aphrodite visits Cupid to complain about the match he has made between beautiful Princess Ileandra and dashing Prince Sarpedon, who are heirs to the thrones of their respective fathers, King Lynaeus and King Barus. She explains that the two kings plan to dismantle her temples along their common border, and begs Cupid to break up the impending marriage.


The Execution / season 2 - episode 17

hen Xena and Gabrielle are summoned to the village of Cormier by Meleager the Mighty, they arrive to find that their famous warrior friend has just been convicted of murder. After battling their way past a group of hostile villagers led by Sullus, they burst into the courthouse where Meleager stands chained. Despite Gabrielle's pleas to the court to consider Meleager's legendary courage and character, Judge Arbus refuses to overturn the death sentence.


Blind Faith / season 2 - episode 18

Directed by: Josh Becker
Gabrielle is kidnapped in the marketplace one afternoon by the handsome young warrior Palaemon, who returns to the scene of the crime just as Xena arrives to look for her friend. Palaemon tells the warrior princess that he's killed Gabrielle and that she is the next to die. A wild and reckless fight ensues but before Xena can gain the upper hand, her sword slices through a large bag of oil, suspended from a market stall. As the bag bursts open, some of the oil gets into Xena's eyes.


Ulysses / season 2 - episode 19

While walking near the seashore one day, Xena and Gabrielle come upon the handsome and intrepid Ulysses battling a band of pirates. With spectacular martial arts prowess, Xena and Ulysses make quick work of the attackers and find themselves face-to-face at the end of the fight, intensely attracted to each other. Ulysses, the king of Ithaca, explains that the pirates have been promised his beautiful island as their spoils if they can keep him from returning home.


The Price / season 2 - episode 20

Xena and Gabrielle are fishing one morning when suddenly, an arm reaches up through the water and grabs Gabrielle's wrist. Falling backwards, she pulls the body of a drowning Athenian soldier from the river. With his dying breath, he stammers that his garrison has been surrounded by the Horde. When Xena rolls his lifeless body over, she finds an ornate axe embedded in his chest and instantly realizes they're in terrible danger.


The Lost Mariner / season 2 - episode 21

Xena and Gabrielle are aboard a merchant vessel being chased by pirates when the ship is suddenly forced onto the shoreline rocks and destroyed. Xena manages to make it to a nearby island but Gabrielle, having drifted back into deep water, is picked up by the cursed ship of Cecrops, the Lost Mariner. Familiar with the legend of the 300 year-old curse, Gabrielle soon finds her worst fears confirmed.


A Comedy of Eros / season 2 - episode 22

Xena and Gabrielle arrive at the Temple of Hestia in response to news that the evil warlord Draco is planning to capture the Hestian Virgins and sell them to the slaver Pinullus. What they don't realize is that Cupid's mischievous baby boy Bliss has made off with one of his father's crossbows and is flying directly above them as they stroll through the village.
